Marignana Arte is pleased to present Subsidere, Stefano Cescon’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, opening on March 27, 2026, on the occasion of the Gallery Weekend.

Stefano Cescon is an italian artist whose practice lies between painting and sculpture, with a sustained focus on the use of wax and pigments.
The exhibition brings together a selection of new works that form part of the research Cescon has developed over recent years, centered on the relationship between matter, time, and transformation. Wax, a central material in his practice, is employed to question the stability of form and the distinction between painting and sculpture, through surfaces built up in layers and measured interventions. Drawing from an interest in natural processes of transformation, the works appear as slabs with organic veining, suspended between tonal painting and sculpture. As a result of a slow and controlled sedimentation, his work investigates the dialectic between permanence and transience, between mineral memory and human gesture.
The exhibition path proposes a direct engagement with material processes; the works do not present narrative images, but open visual configurations in which time manifests as accumulation, suspension, and variation. In this context, matter becomes the site of reflection on change and perception, inviting visitors to linger on what is in constant transformation.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a text by Jonathan Molinari.
